The Church is the people of the Cross, which always continues “In the Footsteps of the Nazarene.” The Church was born on Calvary and, along with Her four marks – One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic – we should add a fifth: Persecuted.
"In the Footsteps of the Nazarene" lifts the veil that much of Western mass media uses to cover the violent persecution that Christian communities suffer in many parts of the world. "In the Footsteps of the Nazarene" is not led by hearsay. To make this program possible, EUK Mamie Foundation - HM Television search for witnesses who are suffering first-hand persecution simply for being Christians.

In the Footsteps of the Nazarene: Fr. Daniel Maes, o.praem.

Fr. Daniel Maes, o.praem. wants to share with us his firsthand experience of the war in Syria. This exclusive interview for HM Television was recorded in Qara, Syria by the monks of the Mar Yakub Monastery.
In this program of “In the Footsteps of the Nazarene," Fr. Daniel explains how the Syrian war began, and the intense religious persecution that was unleashed. Fr. Daniel is very well aware of the political situation. He tells us his opinion about the presence of the Russian army in Syria, and insists upon the positive role played by Assad's army, which always protected the civilians. His testimony can open our eyes to the manipulations of the mass media and the lies that have been spread by the media about the war in Syria.

Where is your brother?

Where is your brother? This is the question that God poses to humanity, inquiring about the brothers He entrusted to us, the brothers who are constantly being humiliated, kidnapped, tortured, and murdered. Their blood is crying out to Heaven! Meanwhile, many of us have fallen into a mediocre slumber, lost in a world of comfort, oblivious to our neighbors’ anguish. HM Television wants to give a voice to our brothers, Christ’s witnesses, who are willing to shed their blood rather than deny their faith. These men and women live out their Christian faith with authenticity, hope, and strength in the most difficult situations. Pray with us for the persecuted Christians in Syria, Irak, Nigeria, and so many other countries. Cry out with all your heart, in midst of this terrible genocide, that you too are a “Nazarene.” The interviews contained in this clip are taken from the television series “In the Footsteps of the Nazarene” by HM Television.

In the Footsteps of the Nazarene: Chinese Catholic Priest

"In the Footsteps of the Nazarene" presents a Catholic priest who is forced to exercise his ministry in China clandestinely for being faithful to the Holy See. Since the implantation of communism in the country, the Catholic Church has suffered a rupture in its communion with the Holy See. Those who remain faithful to Rome are subjected to re-education camps, vigilance by the government, censures, tortures… Many priests and bishops are arrested, imprisoned or have disappeared. The recognition of the Holy Father as representative of Christ on earth entails a high price for the Christians in China, and this testimony gives us a glimpse into the faithfulness and tenacity with which our Chinese brothers and sisters live their Faith.

In the Footsteps of the Nazarene: H.E. John Card. Onaiyekan

"In the Footsteps of the Nazarene" H.M. Television presents the testimony of H.E. John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop of Abuja (Nigeria).
Nigeria lives Christianity under the shadow of the Cross and the joy of the Resurrection. Find out about what our brothers and sisters in Africa really live and discover how each one of them is full of joy despite living in a country where terrorism is wiping out the Christian population. This terrorism brings about a faith that is more alive and coherent.
Card. Onaiyekan also speaks about how despite Europe’s Christian roots, it is faced with the reality of terrorism and the lack of an authentic Catholic evangelization.

In the Footsteps of the Nazarene: Mireille Al Farah

Mireille Al Farah, a young Catholic of Syrian origin, tells us about the situation in her country. She can no longer return to Syria after having arrived in Spain as a student before the present conflict began. Mireille explains how the conflict came about and defines its various fronts with their tragic consequences. The supernatural vision of faith is what illuminates the Christians from the region in the face of the great sufferings they must confront.

How can I help?

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, up until now we have been able to continue our evangelization through the media. The needs, however, are growing and many times there are unexpected expenses due to maintenance, the purchasing of new machines, etc.
