Lucy has Sr. Grace guess what's different about her today. She's wearing earrings! Since everyone else is wearing earrings, she has decided to wear them, too. Sr. Grace reminds Lucy that God loves us for who we are, not what we wear or do. This is why we shouldn't do things to gain the approval of others. Doing so can make us become attached to things and stray from God. Instead, knowing that God loves us, we should be strong enough to go "against the current" and brave enough to follow Jesus Christ.
