"Mary, Lady of Jerusalem". Prayer by Fr. Andrea Santoro

WakeUp Project wishes to honor the "Mother and Help of Christians" with a prayer composed by Fr. Andrea Santoro, an Italian priest assassinated in Trabzon, Turkey, in 2006 because of hatred for the Faith.

The prayer was composed in "Meryem anà" ("Mother Mary"), the house where the Blessed Virgin Mary lived with St. John in Ephesus, Turkey. Fr. Andrea Santoro was at that time "Jesus' presence" in the "Holy Land of the Apostles", as he liked to call Turkey, the land where he poured out his blood for love of Jesus Christ.

Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters with us and the WakeUp Project.

János Brenner. Martyr of the Eucharist

“Wake Up Project” presents to you in this brief clip, the young Blessed “János Brenner: Martyr of the Eucharist.” This joyful, Hungarian priest shed his blood while defending his and his people’s Catholic Faith during the course of his priesthood. Murdered by Communist agents, he did not fail to guard close to his chest, despite the 32 stab wounds he received, the treasure of his heart: the Holy Eucharist. Be stirred and moved by the fire of Christ’s martyrs in the “Wake Up Project.”

Fr. Josef Toufar. Witness of the Cross

With this clip "Wake Up Project" wants to present to you the figure of Fr. Josef Toufar. This young and generous priest was a victim of the wave of communism that struck the Czech Republic in 1949. The "Miracle of the Cross of Číhošt", was what led Fr. Josef to be kidnapped by the Communist Police force who subjected him to severe tortures. They manipulated the truth in order to wipe out the faith of the Czech people. Fr. Josef died due to the serious abuse received from the communist regime, but he left behind for the Catholic population, his example of faith and love for the truth.

Fr. Andrea Santoro: Witness of Faith in Turkey

The “Wake up Project" wants to bring you close to a man who gave himself to Christ, in both his life and his death. “Fr. Andrea Santoro: Witness of Faith in Turkey” will take you inside the life of this Italian priest, who went to Turkey as a Fidei Donum missionary so as to be a “small light” in the midst of a small flock and “Jesus’ presence” in Arabic and highly Islamic lands.

Fr. Andrea died in 2006, assassinated by Islamic radicals. He left behind the testimony of an exemplary life, manifested in his love for Christ and his brothers and sisters, whatever their religious convictions may have been. He was a model for priests and gave of himself to the point of sacrificing his own life.

"Take Up My Life". Prayer by Fr. Andrea Santoro

The "Wake Up Project" invites you to discover what was in the hearts of those who knew how to live and die for Christ. "Take Up My Life" is a prayer written by Fr. Andrea Santoro, an Italian priest who wished to be a witness to the Gospel in an Arabic country. He spent 5 years as a "Fidei Donum" missionary in Turkey, where he lived as "another Christ" among people who did not know Christ. He died in 2006, assassinated while he was meditating on the Word of God in his small parish church, "Saint Mary of Trabzon." This prayer, written on November 20, 1986, expresses what was in the priestly heart of Fr. Andrea: love for Christ and the desire to lay down his life for Him. At the same time, it expresses the experience of his own fragility.
