Nicola Griffin, from Limerick, Ireland, grew up amidst gunfire, drugs, alcohol, death and vengeance. But everything began to change when a community of Franciscans came to her area, Moyross. Nicola saw one of the friars beaten up because he saved a woman that he didn’t even know. When she asked him why he did it, he responded that that was what Jesus had done for each one of us. Her studies became an escape route for her until bad friends and evil's lure introduced her--at 15 years of age--into the world of drugs. At lightning speed Keri went down a path of destruction: rehabilitation with relapses to overdose and seizures, impurity, cocaine, crack, heroin injections, marijuana and pain relievers. She was on a mission to die. Her life made no sense. After being admitted to hospital for the last time, her family let her choose between entering the Cenaculo Community or abandoning her. Today on board our train we have George Contois. In his childhood and adolescence, he attended a Baptist church with more than 10,000 worshippers. His youth group had over 350 kids in it. His whole life revolved around his faith and going to church: worship services, choir, discipleship, youth group. However, when he joined the army, everything changed. God no longer had a place in his life. Media and internet took over. He found a job, got married at 21 and everything seemed to be going great for him. George still believed in God but didn’t think he needed Him, until his daughter's education and his father’s death made him ask himself a lot of questions...

Fr. Fred felt called to the priesthood when he was a child. His faith was nourished by his mother, a faithful Catholic. His father was Methodist, but respected his wife’s faith. When Fr. Fred went to college he was faced with a whole new world: sex and booze was the drug of choice at the time. He realized that he had to make his faith his own, and the call he felt as a child to enter the seminary came back to him. He then experienced a strong faith crisis until the Lord removed the scales from his eyes.
